Chingtok Ishaku is a Nigerian Pastor, Bible teacher and psalmist, with a passion to restoring God’s earth. He is the Founder and senior Pastor of God-Life Assembly International, a thriving church in the heart of Zaria, a major city in Kaduna State in northern Nigeria.
Born (Chingtok Ibrahim Ishaku Gokir), April 14, in Kano state, Nigeria, as the fifth of seven children born to Mr. Ishaku and Mrs. Keziah Gokir, Chingtok completed his primary school education at the Police Children’s School in Kano, and earned his senior secondary certificate education from the Federal Government College, Jos. A Political Science graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Pastor Chingtok is passionate to lead worship with the knowledge of Christ, and this is seen in His various teachings, conferences, and Worship seminars. He served for many years under the ministry of His Spiritual father Chris Delvan Gwamma, Senior Pastor of New Life Assembly, Kaduna.
Career
While on campus, he served in various leadership positions and also pioneered a revival on the campus. Pst. Chingtok sensed a call to ministry around the year 1995/96 and has not relented since then.
He is still reaching out through various mediums some include, the Project 7000, a campaign geared towards raising 7000 people to pray for Nigeria, Zaria Praise festival; an annual concert that gathers worshipers from the length and breadth of Zaria and Nigeria, in praise to God, And a monthly teaching tagged ‘The Whole Truth’His infallible passion lies in his desire,” to see the body of Christ enter into the fullness of the truth of the gospel and even become accurate witnesses of the full stature of Jesus, as we take the kingdoms of this world and submit them to our God and his Christ.” This forms the crux of the teachings, the music, jokes…everything the Man Chingtok lives and would always live for.
His album ‘WORSHIP EXPRESSION’ and the single LION AND THE LAMB (Featuring Olumide Iyun and Nathaniel Bassey) has been a tremendous blessing to millions within and outside the Nation.
While on campus, Pastor Chingtok served in various leadership positions and also pioneered a revival on the campus. Pst. Chingtok sensed a call to ministry around the year 1995/96. He joined the Oasis of Love Church, Zaria in the year 2004, where he served as the assistant Pastor until the year 2009.
It was also his year of departure from the Oasis as he founded the God – Life Assembly under the pastoral covering of Reverend Chris Delvan Gwamna, pastor of the New Life Assembly, Kaduna in the same year. The God- Life Assembly, Zaria blossomed and saw Pst. Chingtok inaugurate ten other pastors to help oversee the running of the assembly.
During his time in Zaria, Pst. Chingtok birthed several spiritual events such as the Feast of Eagles (Zaria), the Zaria Praise Festival (an annual worship event that sees the gathering of musical ministers from all over Nigeria) The GLA annual Camp meeting (a convocation of believers from all over Nigeria, gathered to camp for over three day in a thorough spiritual fast, The last Camp meeting tagged “Balanced” held in Jos, different from the usual location, Zaria).
However, the year 2015 marked a significant year in the history of the God-life Assembly, and also Pst. Chingtok’s life as he migrated from Zaria to begin a new arm of the God-Life Assembly in the capital of the Plateau, Jos.
