Daphne Njie Efundem (born 20 September 1989) known professionally as Daphne. Daphne Njie Gundem is a Cameroonian award winning singer, songwriter, performer and composer.
Daphne was born in Buea to a Bakweri father and a Banyangi mother. She grew up in Douala, Cameroon. She has stayed in Yaoundé, Buea in the Southwest Region region, and even abroad. She is currently signed to Stevens. And she has three Bachelors degrees.

Career
She loved music at a tender age and started manifesting this by joining the choir. Her mother did not appreciate the fact that she wanted to be a singer because of her belief the music World is not a kind one. Nothing stopped Daphne from pursuing her goal.
She kicked off her musical career professionally with her song “Rastafari” and got popular via the song Calée. Daphné is married with presently no children.
Daphne came to the spotlight with her song Ndolo ft Ben Decca but went international with the song Calée produced by Salatiel.From then, Daphne has won multiple awards.
She has always been a huge fan of CeCe Winans, Mary Mary, Bébé Manga and Frank Edwards. Her modern musical tastes include Tiwa Savage and Rihanna but she says the latter did not influence her own work.
Technically speaking, the most important thing for her in writing a song is finding the right tune because “tunes carry emotions”. Daphne’s entrancing voice often has her compared to a fairy. She confesses that she “would love to touch the hearts of people who stopped believing in their dreams, in their lives; who only think of running away. “
She has however said she will never advise her daughter to get into music because showbiz isn’t a good place.
