BIGSONG:
Born in his native country Nigeria, Jumbo Aniebiet moved to the United States in 2003 to pursue his passion in music. Early in his life, he wanted to attend college like every other kid in his neighborhood. Jumbo’s father, Elijah was a jazz musician and he had a lot of influence in Jumbo’s musical growth. By age 6, Jumbo could play the Harmonica. But even his father’s influence could not deter Jumbo who was determined to accomplish his academic goal. But oftentimes, life takes on its own path. “I loved the idea of being a doctor, an engineer or an architect, you know. Music was not even in my forecast. It wasn’t until I lost my mother that I turned to music”, said Jumbo.By age 16, Jumbo began performing alongside famous musicians like Huge Masakela fromSouth Africa, and Nigeria’s Queen of Soul Yinka Davis. He also wrote and produced for many artists including French-based singer Asa. After many years behind the scenes, Jumbofinally stepped into the music scene with the release of his debut album titled “Brand NewDay” – a move which has thrilled his growing fans across the music world.
