Multi-award winning Accra based artist, King Promise, is doing the most when it comes to music in Ghana. He is a well-known entertainer and is quite a good song writer and artist.
To top it all off, King Promise is also a great performer who knows how to give the fans what they want. He sings mainly in the high life, hip hop, Afro beats and R&B genres.
Although he has not been in the industry that long, there is a lot about him that appeals to many.
King Promise Real Name
Like most artists, King Promise chose to have a stage name instead of using his birth name. He was born Gregory Bortey Newman.King Promise Age
King Promise is quite young, although he has achieved a lot of great things, and what many people his age will only ever dream of achieving.He was born on the 16th of August in 1995, making him only 24 years old. The Ghanaian artist comes from Nungua in Greater Accra Region.

King Promise Education
King promise did his primary and part of his secondary education at the St. Anthony Academy in Accra. He later on transferred to the Nungua Senior High School where he got his senior school certificate. He is the son to Mr Francis Newman who is a businessman. His mother, a trader is known as Angela Quaye. He has always had inspiration in music because of his dad’s fondness of playing classical music.
King Promise has always had his parents as his support system that only want to see him succeed in everything that he does. The young man also takes time to celebrate his mother on every mother’s day.
King Promise Girlfriend
You would expect a handsome and gifted musician like King Promise to have a special lady he shares his life with, but this is not the case.
King Promise is single and by the looks of things, he isn’t planning on being in a relationship anytime soon.
The star revealed that he has never even had a girlfriend. As if that is not shocking enough, he said he had only been on three dates all his life. He is focused on his music now and is too busy to go on any dates.
“I have never gone on dates. I have been on two dates my whole life because I have never had a girlfriend. The first time I went on a date was three years ago and it happened twice after,” he said during the interview.
King Promise Career
King Promise had his musical journey kick off quite early in his life. In 2016, he dropped the hit single ‘Thank God’. This was in collaboration with Fuse ODG and it is this track that put him on the map, setting him as one of the greatest artists to look out for in the industry.
King Promise has also had the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s greats such as Fuse ODG, Scientific, J-Town, Pappy Kojo, and Adina just to mention a few. King Promise’s sound is unique. His music is a mixture of Afrobeats, HighLife, R&B and Hip-Hop genres.
When he released the banger ‘Double Trouble’ with Sarkodie, this earned him the spot of being one of Ghana’s top musicians. Since then he’s done nothing, but release great hits only. King Promise is currently signed to Legacy Life Entertainment (LLE ) working with producer Killbeatz’s record label and the manager Gervin Ohene Addo.

The song No Pain No Gain by Scientific featured King Promise. It was released in 2015. King Promise also featured Kojo Antwi on the song Bra and the song was released in 2019.

King Promise Awards
The Hey Sexy hitmaker has been honoured with several awards since breaking into the music scene.
In 2018, he won the Ghana Music Awards UK 2018 for Best Male Vocalist Of The Year. The following year saw the Oh Yeah singer win The Best African Artist Recognition Award at the life legacy entertainment awards.
He has also won the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards for Songwriter of the year. Another award he won was the MTN 4syte TV Music Video Awards for the Best Discovery Video. It seems the year 2020 started on a good note for him too.

King Promise Controversy
Dubai-based businesswoman, Yasmin Behzadi, caused drama last year for King Promise, after claiming the musician has neglected him, though she helped kickstart his career.
The lady claimed King Promise promised her a car, but never fulfilled his promise.
In an interview with Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM Friday, she claimed to have forked out a whooping she spent in excess of $150,000 to help pay for King Promise’ music videos shoots, travelling expenses, luxury cars, Hollywood producers, and promotions.
Yasmin threatened to take legal action against King Promise.
In 2018, the music duo came out to explain why they had took a hiatus from the music scene in Ghana. In an interview on DaybreakHitz on HitzFM, the duo said that the entry of King Promise, KiDi and Kuami Eugene saw the focus from them shift to the new artists. This eventually kicked them out of business as their music was not selling anymore.
However the duo managed to get back on their feet and are currently promoting their banger, ‘Same Girl’ which features Akwaboah.
The singer recently saw himself land in the hospital after he had an accident whilst skating. It seems this happened in Amsterdam during his last leg of his recent tour.
