BIGSONG:
Suwilanji (real name Miriam Suwilanji Mumba) is a Zambian born singer and songwriter who travels and ministers in Africa and the U.S. She debuted on the local gospel scene with an album titled ‘Mwanjitile Akale’. The album featured songs such as ‘Ichubo’, ‘Moneni’, ‘Mwe Ba Maka’, ‘Takuli and Ni Mwe Bene’, instantly announcing her entry into the Christian music community. ‘Mulilonshi’, her second album released in 2012, was both her personal testimony and a song of hope for all those going through trials and tribulations.
Immediately after the release of ‘Mwanjitile Akale’, she took one of her life-changing trips to the U.S. where she was invited to minister, following in the footsteps of Fortune Nyondo, who is based there, and the Ngosa brothers comprising of Hezrone, Mathew and BJ, who have all been overseas many times.
Three years down the line, with so much faith in the Lord and her gift of music, she returned to the studio to record her new album aptly titled ‘Mulilonshi’. With songs such as ‘Nalichimfya’, ‘Mu Jerusalem’, ‘Lesa Wandi’ and ‘Nkabafwaya’, she has grown to impact all those who seek the face of God in faith.
