From her humble beginnings in the township of KwaMashu, Swazi Dlamini started her music career as a vocalist for the gospel group, Joyous Celebration. In 2003 her debut album, My First Love,led to swaher being awarded, Sama 2004 Best Female artist, and Kora 2004 most promising African Female artist for that year. Her second album, Dance with Me, showed off her voice by covering a range of styles, including R&B, jazz, gospel and blues. It garnered nominations for Best Contemporary Jazz album at both the Samas and the Metro FM Awards in 2006.In 2011 she released Gospel Meets Jazz: Live In Durban on CD and DVD. Swazi is also a business woman in the music industry with Swazitainment Productions and Shammah Records with husband and fellow musician, Tshepo Mngoma. In October 2013 she released Soul Of Me.
